Matthew Stevens

Matthew always had an eye for the arts, but never pursued it other than just playing around with scraps and found objects. As an apprentice electrician, he often was the recipient of overruns of copper grounding wire after jobs were completed. He started “doodling” with the wire and you can now see the results of his efforts. He has taken animals, objects and pretty much anything else and given them a comic tilt. With tongue in cheek, he calls the creating of his sculptures a “very grounding experience.”
