MeKo

The intense need to create—to channel an energy—led to working in the fused glass medium. Meg Branzetti's and Vicky Kokolski's creative impulses culminate in the art of one-of-a-kind mask making. According to the artists, their masks provide them the opportunity for fascinating design work to be done, while communicating emotion to the viewer. Meg and Vicky are influenced by the everyday—they call upon personal experiences and feelings, not historical art movements when creating. These self-taught artists' masterpieces reflect their spiritual energy and emotion. Exploding together in an eclectic composition of color and texture, the masks often refer to our primitive pasts—not to one culture, rather, a combination of all cultures. Each mask is a distinct image intended to evoke a myriad of emotions and sensations. Meg and Vicky's friendship is what solidifies their creative collaboration. Together, they have the motivation to pursue this incredible artistic journey that persists only with the imput and reaction of the viewer. "We are all divine entities; each one of us is a magnificent kaleidoscope of emotions, experiences, images, and sensations. Our masks represent both our individuality and shared spiritual beauty."

MeKo has been featured on the Carol Duval Show as well as in Art for the Home. MeKo appears in Niche, American Style, Home, Southern Living and GlassArtInfo.com magazines.
